- Marmor (über lat. marmor aus altgr. μάρμαρος mármaros; vermutlich verwandt mit μαρμαίρειν marmaírein „schimmern, glänzen“) ist ein Carbonatgestein, das aus den Mineralen Calcit, Dolomit oder Aragonit besteht.
